In the line of work I am in I have been involved in more disciplinary hearings/investigations/appeals than I care to recall. Never have any of them taken a few days, it does not work like that. In particular with a case like Barton's where there appears to be many elements (the bust up, betting, going public when I would imagine he was told not too) and there is contracts worth hundreds of thousands at stake. If it did take few days we would have made a complete arse of it and ended up in court being ordered to pay horrendous amounts in damages. It doesn't matter what the conclusion is in these matters if the process is not followed correctly the organisation (in this case Rangers) will have serious problems.
