Posted Wednesday at 03:19 PM He should have been training still with us anyway may as well get something for the outlay. I don't think the board or Management have handled this well, Bartons probably just as guilty. 6 people like this
Posted Wednesday at 03:19 PM Yep that statement says to me that'll he'll be training away from the first team. I'll be shocked if he ever plays for the first team again
Posted Wednesday at 03:20 PM At least it's a statement that doesn't promise too much and delivers fuck awe, a minimal job so there's no comeback !
Posted Wednesday at 03:22 PM Hopefully everyone moves past the whole situation and just gets on with playing football Not getting my hopes up tho
Posted Wednesday at 03:23 PM The statement to me looks like he's back in training, but he'll not be back playing again
Posted Wednesday at 03:23 PM Halliday, Holt and Windass have brought fresh tempo, agility and movement to our midfield. Barton would undo all of that. 6 people like this

Doesn't sound like he'll see first team football again anytime soon, if at all... Thats how I read it. Training on his own until January and then papped. 1 person likes this

Posted Wednesday at 03:25 PM I think 13 year olds write our statements for us. Just say whether he'll play for not fuck sake It sounds like this is part of the 'punishment' to me 2 people like this
Posted Wednesday at 03:25 PM Nice to see another thread full of daft rumors and speculations and all of them negative This is is a good thing. He's a good player and a great passer of the ball. If he keeps his head down he can do well. The last thing we need to happen is for the crowd to boo and taunt him when he comes back 9 people like this
Posted Wednesday at 03:26 PM Training with the reserves until January then punt him for a couple of million = best case scenario. He works his way back into the side = doesn't bare thinking about

Probably seen his tweet about playing golf yesterday and thought fuck that get him in here to train as punishment.

The ball bounced off him and allowed the others to shift around freely. When Barton and Kranjcar played together it was like swimming through treacle. Why Warburton thought that would ever work I'll never know. The important thing is he's showing signs that he's realised that and even tweaked us tactically from the rigid side-to-side possession game with no end product. 1 person likes this

Just my opinion I read it like that too hopefully get something for him
Posted Wednesday at 03:29 PM This will be to conform to legal requirements and not leave us open to a claim for constructive dismissal. I suspect he will train with the youths until he gets an offer from elsewhere. Ideally in January . No matter what I hope he does not get a payout from us. I would rather we paid him weekly till his contract ended than give him a payout to go early . If he wants to spend the next 18 months or so like this then fine 1 person likes this
Posted Wednesday at 03:30 PM That statement is just another farcical addition to this circus. I wish they'd just be clear with us. He either returns to the squad, or he doesn't. Constant cloak-and-dagger with Rangers these days. 1 person likes this

Posted Wednesday at 03:30 PM This was part of the apparent "agreement", suggested last week. He returns to training to get fit for his "free" transfer in January.
Posted Wednesday at 03:31 PM He's a stubborn tit of a guy but the way we have handled it is a shambles as well. If he's apologised then we should have moved on and kept him part of the squad. If he hasn't apologised or made an effort to put it to bed then we should be looking at ways to get rid of him now via some type of breach of contract. 1 person likes this

Posted Wednesday at 03:32 PM Are people that daft to keep having a go at the Board for statements like these? It's quite clearly to do with legal issues. Read between the lines: he played his last game for the Club against Celtic. 4 people like this
