I thought he was excellent yesterday, he sometimes lacks composure on the ball, two good chances early on but it's fairly obvious why he's in the team, he's a wee warrior. He started the high pressing yesterday, the speed of him getting out midfield to close their defenders down set the standard for the rest of the team. He's a credit to our squad.

He doesn't play like a 23 year old learning his trade, he plays like a veteran who's played the game for 20 years. Him and Miller have a brilliant understanding and both of them with their high pressing yesterday was what we want to see for the rest of the season.

Well done Jason, keep up the good work!

Couldn't agree more thought he was unlucky not to get POTY last year aswel! The work he gets through in a game is incredible! Makes the same runs he would in the first minute as he would in the last minute! He's a class act.

I agree. He is our most important midfielder by a country mile. His movement and vision is first class. A real bargain at 65K!

Hopefully we have turned a corner with that performance yesterday. It was very pleasing to watch. I also think O'Halloran and Garner played well also.

I'm hoping we're beginning to gel as a team now and I think that selection of players should be given a run of games as it seems to be working for us.

Absolutely! I'd said in another thread yesterday that I feel that when he's in the squad (and on his best form) the whole team plays better. Unlucky not to get that tap in from MoH's cut back. On the whole a great asset to us. The combination of him and Windass in attacking roles really works,

He is a good wee player, but to be honest, he is a little bit behind where we need to be to be honest.

He might develop into a player that will be indispensable to us, but right now, his position is one where I would like to see a better player be recruited, so that he needs to really up his game to get in.

Young players need to play in order to develop. Hopefully he and some of the other young lads can stay fit, keep playing games, and improve.

It is pleasing to have players like him that are developing. This is the MW way too.

Far better than big spending attempts at fixing things, considering our current position. Need to spend some silly money to get someone with more than that boy has!

Excellent player excellent attitude, never does anything too fancy just does the simple stuff very well. Will run for 90 minutes as well. Certainly going places in the game hopefully with us for a long time to come amazing the difference when he was injured,

A role model for all the young aspiring footballers who have been told their "too small" "too lightweight" to play football.

Jason Holt epitomises work rate. It absolutely baffles me when he gets the ball how much space he has around him. He finds space in every part of the pitch.

I must admit the longer he was out the more he was becoming our saviour on here but now he has a run of games hes getting back to his best. If he could add goals he'd be almost a complete forward thinking midfielder

Very intelligent player with a good 1st touch and non-stop work ethic.

His shooting/finishing is his weakest point, hopefully it'll improve.

With regards to his age, what sort of lives have he and Halliday had? Both could easily pass for 30!

He's bang average football player and just another that's benefited from our situation over these last few years.

Generally when players have a bad game they are an empty jersey. Therefore the biggest compliment I can pay Holt is that even when he's not quite on it, IMO he still has an impact. His energy, legs, dynamism, chasing and harrying are always there. He always makes space, makes himself available, closes player down and forces opponents into mistakes. A lot of his work may go unnoticed but I think most of us really appreciate what he brings to the team. When he plays well though, which is more often than not, then we're laughing! IMO we are definitely a better team when he plays.

He's not perfect and still has a lot to learn but at 23 I really think he can evolve into a very well rounded and complete midfielder.

Great player and just the type we will have to keep finding because we aren't paying any serious money for a ready to go midfielder anytime soon.

I would put Windass in the same mould, given time and a good coach the both of them could be our midfield mainstay for a few years to come.

Put in a great shift yesterday. When he is on his game, the team plays well.

Only gripe I have is that he can be a bit lightweight when putting his body between ball and player when attempting to hold play up. He is never going to be the most physical player but it is something he could definitely add to his game to improve even more.

He was getting pelters on here after the other recent poor performances. Along with others

But he does perform much better when he has players around him who will work at his workrate... like MOH and Windass yesterday

My poty last year.

This season he hasn't had the same impact as yet, hopefully he pushes on.

Gets into some great positions and should be putting away some of the excellent chances he has failed to so far.

His final ball is bad, and it's Windass and Halliday who are really making the difference right now, in midfield. If we could get another player like Windass then we would make a real impact on what is left of this season. Perhaps if Crooks can play in the defensive position then Halliday can play alongside Windass; but preferably I'd like to see one more creative midfielder. Holt has no final ball of the standard we require, and he has little in the way of creativity. We need more than he offers. He's a nice guy, and I like him in how he comes across etc, but he isn't good enough if we are to take the next step.

And there was some slaughtering him the other night. Sure one poster said, 'looked every bit a £65k player'.

Hes crucial to our midfield.

I understand why some say he is 'average' and that he got the benefit of us being in the lower league... however.

Holt has always had interest down south. Even before Hertz went into Admin good Championship teams were having bids knocked back. At 23 he would not have got into a Rangers team pre-2012 however the top flight is weaker now than it was then and that balances it out. Having another 7 odd years to get better is where the promise comes from and I really hope he continues to get better.

Always liked him since the mauling of hibs last summer. Thought he was an exceptional talent with all the tools to make it at Rangers. Some fans for whatever reason don't have many good things to say about him though

Great link up player Holt and great work ethic in this team, will he make it once we have money to spend and improve on the playing Squad it's hard to tell i thought Waghorn would have been a success this season which hasn't happened so far it's hard to tell.

The other night he stood threw his arms up when the St Johnstone player went pass him rather than tackle i think that's why he got stick.
