Rossiter injured again

89 posts in this topic

Look at how long Vincent Kompany has been injured for, unfortunately injuries are complicated and take time for the player to get back to 100%

Not to be funny mate, I'm sure if it was that simple they would have already got to the bottom of it. Players get injured, sometimes luck goes against the team and we have multiple injuries.

It just seems as if we have the worst luck when it comes to this right now. Too many players taking a wage but not getting anything from them where it matters. Hope it gets remedied soon and he can get back to the pitch

I had a look at the training pics the other day to see if I could see Rossiter but didn't see him in the 3 or 4 sessions I checked.

MW said the OF game was just too soon for him, then he had a set-back in training which was another 2-3 weeks 2-3 weeks ago, but is still nowhere to be seen so probably still weeks away.

It's a shame for both us and him because we could do with the option since we don't have Barton or Kranjcar and from his POV he'd probably be getting a lot of needed game time.

Good to see Crooks, McKay, Wilson getting picked to get some game time and help them.

Senderos can GTF.

3pm

Ross County are top of the league with 2 games in hand to the 2nd placed team so will be a tough game.

Was during the Kilmarnock game he picked it up, was it not?

Not just injuries though, general fitness we should be miles ahead of most teams, yet shite like Ross county are running us off the park, i feel we are too intense at training perhaps

I think Rossiter will go on to be a better player than Scott Brown in my opinion #ticktock.

STOP. Honestly. Some of us are as obsessed with Brown as the taigs are with us.

If there's one thing we don't need just now it's injury prone players ... a big disappointment because he is talented

2-1 half time with goals from Burt & McKay.

Lost the goal from a free kick after Wallace "bamboozels" Senderos to win a free kick.

Shame about Rossiter. Hopefully he gets over his injuries as I think he is a player. You can see why we took a gamble on him..Liverpool wanted quite a lot of cash for him.

As for players getting injured more at training than during games might have something to do with amount of time spent on the training pitch as oppose playing games. I understand that games are more intense, but still.

It seems to me that over the piece this season so far there have been far too many players out through injury. I don't entirely hold with the notion that this is why we need a big squad. Sure a squad is needed, and its laudable that the objective is for every player to be able to see his way to first team football and not just making up numbers. But size of squad should not be masking the injury count that we seem to be enduring. Seems to me something is wrong in the training regime or in the underlying level of fitness / robustness of the players.

Rossiter is effectively a passenger so far this season. Yes he has potential but that is all it is until he actually starts to play - and play regularly. At the current rate of knots that does not seem likely for much of the rest of this season.

According to the Rangers website this afternoon Senderos is also recovering from injury. I missed news of that happening. When was he injured?

And of course we had the Kranjcar injury which - for a fair while - was being reported as some sort of 'freak' injury (but no details disclosed), and Rangers were happy to have that label applied to the injury. Until a press conference before the international break when Warburton backed off from the term 'freak injury' to water it down to just one of these things that happen.

We should be applying a 'Danger Will Robinson Danger' warning to everything Warburton says about Rossiter's progress from injury and - because of Warburton's track record on this - about every other injury too. We have been treated to repeat messages along the lines of Rossiter is a game away or just too soon but nearly there. There comes a point where consistently sending out messages of 'nearly there' when the evidence week after week is he is not there becomes misleading, and disrespectful.

I don't have the details but maybe someone does of comparing our squad size and average numbers out injured each week to other professional teams in Scotland / England. Be interesting to know how our injury rate compares. Warburton likes numbers, stats and analysis, I guess he will have had someone check on this as if we are at the top end of incurring injuries then query why this is the case.

I've said it before.

at euros myself and mate met a few England scouts. We got round to discussing Rangers as I tend to do with mist folk.

Rossiters name came up , his points being he was a fantastic player but always injured.

Looks like he was correct sadly.

I agree there might be something wrong with our training, there's something wrong with everything else so it would be more strange if there wasn't something wrong with our training.

Aye, was it under Sir Walter that we knocked back Hartson because we thought he was a risk after being stung, paying big money for crocks, I thought we had learned a lesson.
